PHOENIX, Arizona (December 19, 2017) – Western Window Systems, one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., had outgrown their previous facility in Phoenix. They were in need of a new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility that reflected the brand and company culture that has made them a success.

Their headquarters, designed by Ware Malcomb and built by Layton Construction, found its new home at the Airport I-10 Business Park in Phoenix. The location provides easy access for clients and designers who fly in to see their products.

The Western Window Systems brand is paramount to the organization, and the 135,000-square-foot warehouse and 35,000-square-foot office space were carefully branded to inspire everyone who works in or visits the facility.

The Western Window Systems brand slogan is “Helping People Live, Design, and Build Better," and the office is filled with opportunities to live and work better. A monumental staircase is the focal point of the two-story atrium space, and if you need to get downstairs in a hurry, you can take a custom slide from the second floor down to the first.

Western Window Systems requested occupancy of the manufacturing area first, so they could construct the glass walls for the office portion of the project. The glass walls were field measured and then manufactured in the new facility, helping contain costs.

Multi-slide doors are featured throughout the space, and all of the offices, meeting rooms and breakout areas are defined by custom-designed, multi-slide, full-height glass partitions. The new mezzanine structure and elevated exterior patio add additional flair and function.

The elevated exterior patio not only showcases Western Window Systems products, but it also reinforces the idea behind the true indoor-outdoor experience. The large employee café opens up to an 1,800-square-foot covered patio, doubling its size and giving employees access to sunshine and open air along the bank of the Salt River.

Western Window Systems was recently named one of the "10 Coolest Offices in the Valley" by AZ Big Media, along with two other Layton-built projects spaces, Cushman & Wakefield and Keyser.
