Kauai Community Federal Credit Union

Kauai Community Federal Credit Union (KCFCU) is a new office building on the island of Kauai. The building is the first LEED-Certified financial institution and the second LEED-Certified building on the island of Kauai. The early collaboration of all team members during the design ensured the success, timely completion, and customer satisfaction of the project.

The project consists of a two story 21,000 SF building with underground basement parking on a 78,000 SF lot with asphalt and concrete parking. The highlights of the project include a natural bio swale, photovoltaic system, Zetian curtainwall system, translucent skylight panels, high efficiency plumbing fixtures and mechanical system and native and adaptive landscaping. Some of the LEED requirements are high recycled content value of materials, construction waste management plan, increased environmental air quality, increased daylighting, and the use of lighting motion sensors and daylighting light fixtures.
